In AIDA 1 STAR Freediving Course, you will learn the very basics of Freediving.

AIDA 1 Star Freediving Course consists of:

  • A Theory session
  • A Breathing and relaxation session
  • A Confined water session
  • An Open water session

During the theory session we cover:

  • Freediving equipment
  • Freediving breathing
  • Equalisation technique
  • Freediving Safety

During the breathing and relaxation session:

  • How the breathing can help you to get relaxed
  • Recovery breathing for when you finish your dive

During the Confined Water session:

  • Static apnea training
  • Experiencing some contractions by pushing your breath hold further
  • Safety and how to look after your buddy

During the Open Water session:

  • Using Freediving equipment
  • Duck diving technique
  • Correct body posture
  • Free Immersion and Constant Weight Freediving
  • Correct Finning style
  • Safety and Buddying in open water
  • Dives will be at 10m maximum depth

There are no minimum requirements to pass the course. 

You can complete the 2* at a later date or even the day after (subject to availability).

Prerequisites: 18 years of age (16 with guardian’s consent), be able to swim 100 meters.

Required paperwork: Please complete the AIDA Medical Form and the AIDA Liability Release

Course duration: Usually 1day

AIDA 1 STAR Course costs $250

This includes lunch snacks, pool hire and all equipment. We ask that you transport yourself between local dive sites, please contact us if this will be an issue. (If you have your own wetsuit, we would recommend bringing it)
